Why do I need a Grease Trap?

Grease Trap:

A grease trap (also known as a grease interceptor or triple interceptor) is needed to ensure the disposal of cooking oil and waste water via drains and sinks does not cause plumbing and environmental problems.  There are specific requirements for the Water Authorities in each state and territory of Australia.  Most authorities prohibit liquid waste being discharged on the ground or to a stormwater drainage system.  Grease traps are usually installed between the sink and the sewerage system and are used to collect liquid waste (fats, oils and grease).

Viking Plastics has been supplying grease traps to the plumbing industry for over 50 years.  Viking manufacture above ground and below ground grease traps utilising Thin Skin or Paneltim construction.  A range of standard sizes are available.  Viking also specialise in the fabrication of custom made tanks and manufacture a large number of products specially designed or adapted to customers’ individual needs.

Viking also offers a repair service. However, for most old grease traps it is often easier and more economical to renew the tank. Regardless of where you’re located in Australia, Viking Plastics can supply to even the most remote location.
