Grease Interceptor Approval:
Viking Plastics’ grease interceptor range of products has been approved for installation by South Australian Water Corporation.
A grease interceptor, also known as a grease trap, grease arrestor or food and oil interceptor, is used in food handling premises. The purpose of grease interceptor is to prevent hot greasy oil and waste from entering the sewerage system. For each trade waste application, SA Water has sizing criteria to establish the capacity applicable to the intended installation.
Grease interceptor tanks are available in both above ground and below ground installations. Approved standard sizes range from 1,000 litres to 5,000 litres. Custom sizes range from 100 litres up to 20,000 litres mega tanks!
Viking Plastics offers two construction types – thin skin or Paneltim®.
Thin skin tanks are manufactured from 6mm thick PP and have reinforcing bars around the tank. Below ground thin skin tanks must be surrounded by 100mm of concrete during installation.
Paneltim® tanks are manufactured using an innovative 50mm thick, dual skin construction panel. The panels have an internal cross-rib- cell structure that is lightweight yet offers superior strength and rigidity in both length and width. Paneltim® below ground tanks are a cost competitive alternative to thin skin tanks. They offer faster and lower cost below ground installation as there is no need for poured concrete reinforcement due to the superior strength and rigidity of the Paneltim® panels.
Fabricated in Melbourne, Viking Plastics’ products are available for delivery Australia wide.
