QV Melbourne Case Study

Paneltim grease trap

QV Melbourne is a precinct in the central business district of Melbourne, Victoria.  QV comprises a large shopping centre, a central plaza, an underground food court, a full-size supermarket and apartment buildings.  QV began to open progressively from late 2003, and is now complete.

Viking Plastics recently provided seven 5,000 litre Paneltim grease traps as an upgrade to service the food court and apartment buildings.  Paneltim is an innovative 50mm thick, dual skin, lightweight sandwich panel with an internal cross-rib cell structure.  The Paneltim structure offers sufficient strength and rigidity to be self supporting avoiding the need for an external steel support frame. Larger grease traps (2000 litres and above) are typically more economical when constructed from Paneltim as the steel support frame is not required.  QV’s grease traps were fitted with air-tight, quick release screw-in lids for ease of access.  The Paneltim grease traps were custom made to fit within the size specifications of the car park.
